Madekwe was born South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. Madekwe is English as well as her father is Nigerian. Madekwe also played the title character in How to lose friends & make people feel alienated and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. Her credits in theatre include Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her debut in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama series aired in the US on The CW for only two episodes before being ended. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. After being a regular for the first two seasons it was reported in late May 2013 that Madekwe would quit the show following an appearance as a guest in the premiere episode of the third season. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the television series Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe and her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in the large family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty and four older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks since the four brothers who were athletic played baseball, hockey, and basketball in winter and summer. Ashley did not have the ability to walk.
